What kind of plaster is used for stucco mouldings?
?What kind of plaster is used for stucco mouldings?

The products in our Roman Living range, such as cornice mouldings, stucco rosettes or pilasters, are made of so-called modelling or building plaster . This plaster consists of calcium sulphate and is obtained from sulfuric acid water with milk of lime or limestone by precipitation (the separation of a dissolved substance from a solution).

In liquid form, the obtained stucco plaster can be brought into any conceivable shape before it hardens. Building plaster (as such a easily formable building material) has been used for centuries and is the perfect material for indoor and outdoor use to enhance your living spaces with stucco elements made of plaster.

The fibreglass content of our plaster stucco products (approx. 0.01%) provides additional stability and impact resistance.

How to cut cornice mouldings at a
mitre? How to cut stucco mouldings at a mitre?

Before mounting, the stucco mouldings must be cut to size (according to the area they are to decorate) and mitre-cut, for which a mitre saw with a mitre box is used.

When mitre cutting, always pay attention to which is the outer and inner edge. You can mark the cuts with a fine pencil so that you don't confuse the inside and outside angles.

When cutting a cove moulding as a cornice moulding, for example, the surface that is to be glued to the ceiling rests on the mitre box floor. The surface that is to be attached to the wall leans against the back wall of the mitre box. To prevent the stucco moulding from slipping, ensure a firm grip when cutting.
