The attic. Sometimes just a storage space, but increasingly a popular living area. Whether the mansard measures 10 or 100 square meters, whether one room or the entire floor is to be converted into an apartment, rooms with sloped ceilings exude a special flair.
And stucco mouldings or other stucco elements also look wonderful in these rooms; a high ceiling is not necessarily required. However, slightly narrower and concave stucco mouldings are recommended so as not to visually "take away" ceiling height. Depending on whether you choose a rather simple or ornate stucco moulding, the atmosphere in the room can be emphasized as modern or romantic.
So you certainly don't have to do without stucco mouldings in the attic.
Only the installation requires a little more effort.
Miter cutting and installation of stucco mouldings
Since we currently do not have enough capacity to offer you a cutting and installation service, you will have to cut and install the stucco mouldings you have selected and purchased from us yourself. But with a little time and enough patience, this is easily possible. Everything you need and need to know can be found first in our installation guide for ceiling mouldings, and then you should also note the following:
Due to the slope, unlike straight ceiling finishes, it is necessary to cut the stucco mouldings to match the angle of the roof slope. You measure the angle of the bend in the slope, halve it, and cut the stucco mouldings accordingly on a miter (twice 50% of the total angle). The mouldings can then be installed in the roof slope.
One challenge is to cut the connection angles at the transitions in such a way that, if present, a continuous pattern results.
If gaps still occur, they can also be filled afterwards with our stucco adhesive and, while still wet, modeled with your fingers to improve the appearance.
Such "cheats" disappear easily afterwards under the paint you choose. At first glance, these small imperfections are then hardly noticeable. A great advantage of paintable stucco, whether for the sloped ceiling or other wall and ceiling surfaces!
